About Dr. Sadulski
Dr. Jarrod Sadulski is a criminologist, educator, and international speaker in the criminal justice field. He has 26 years of experience in the Department of Homeland Security through the U.S. Coast Guard and retired as a Commissioned Officer. He also served as a police officer. He was awarded with the Coast Guard Inspirational Leadership Award, Global War on Terror Medal, and was named City of Sunrise Officer of the Year.
His research investigates human trafficking and transnational organized crime through interviews with incarcerated traffickers and fieldwork in the United States, Central and South America, India, and Thailand. In Colombia, he was a guest of INTERPOL and the National Police.
He has testified before U.S. House and Senate bodies on human trafficking and the exploitation of unaccompanied migrant children, trained international law enforcement and university audiences, and consulted for the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime. He teaches criminal justice, has published more than 200 articles on criminal justice related topics, and co-founded the anti-trafficking 501(c)(3) nonprofit GUARD Against Trafficking alongside Ali Hopper.

Research Without Borders
Fieldwork in the United States, Central and South America, India, and Thailand grounds Dr. Sadulski’s research in firsthand conversations with people affected by trafficking and organized crime.
He has interviewed incarcerated traffickers, studied recruitment within prisons, and observed migration routes at the U.S.–Mexico border and the Darién Gap. In Colombia, he worked with INTERPOL and the National Police.
These findings inform testimony, practical training, and policy recommendations.
Research Beyond the Classroom

Dr. Sadulski’s interviews with incarcerated traffickers examine how recruitment, coercion, movement, and exploitation operate in practice. His current work also examines the grooming of women during incarceration and after release.
His field interviews in prisons in the U.S. and in Central America are conducted with current human traffickers, cartel members, and transnational criminal bad actors.
He brings these firsthand findings into criminal justice classrooms, professional training, Congressional testimony, and published commentary.

Dr. Sadulski trains law enforcement, academic, and community audiences on human trafficking, organized crime operations, and counter-narcotics. He has provided trainings to audiences across the United States; and governments in Central America, South America, India, and Thailand on combating human trafficking. Audiences range from law enforcement, INTERPOL, churches, and community-based training.
